First Step:
Set aside 2 hours in your schedule for this project.

Second Step:
You will need to “sift” your food items; clear out the old foods (check expiration dates), consolidate any duplicates, throw out what is not being used.  This step alone will free up some space and give a new feel to your Fountain of Health.

Third Step:
We want to get the best space utilization with the shelving. Most times the manufacturer gives us too many shelves, utilizing all these shelves typically makes it difficult to access what is in located in the back.  Removing one of your shelves to permit a more open atmosphere will allow you to see and reach all items with more ease.

Fourth Step:
Labeling helps everyone know exactly where certain food categories live.  If you can never find the ketchup because the kids never seem to put it back in the same spot, give them a hand with some labels.  Eventually, the labels can be removed once everyone gets in the groove of where everything goes.
